Urine-Diverting Kit for DIY Compost Toilets
The Separett Privy is a urine-diverting set designed for anyone building their own composting toilet, outhouse, or latrine. It helps reduce odors and speeds up decomposition by separating liquid and solid waste at the source – making it ideal for off-grid living and custom toilet builds.
This kit is available with two types of toilet seats: – A traditional hinged toilet seat with lid – An insulating EPS seat for comfort in colder environments
Both seat types are available in blue and grey, so you can choose the color and style that best suits your setup.
Please note: This is a urine-diverting inset only – no collection containers for solids or liquids are included. You are free to select your own buckets or collection systems that best fit your space and usage needs. If mounted over a bucket, the opening should be at least 14 inches in diameter.
The kit includes a urine-diverting bowl, a flexible urine hose, and a template to help you cut the seat opening accurately. When used with a fan-ventilated latrine, the folding seat allows airflow through the system for even better ventilation.
The two different seat options
The Privy with an EPS seat is ideal for cold climates, offering excellent insulation thanks to the properties of expanded polystyrene. This is the original Privy—designed in Sweden to withstand the harsh Nordic environment.
The Privy with a hinged plastic seat is suited for users who prefer the familiar, clean look of a standard home toilet seat.
Both versions include a urine-diverting inset with a separate opening for solids and a funnel for liquids. Also included are a durable metal-reinforced hose, mounting screws, and a template for cutting the seat hole, making installation straightforward.
